A dental visit is usually easier when you know what you want to mention and have useful information ready.
Write down what is bothering you
For pain, sensitivity, a broken tooth, bleeding gums or chewing discomfort, try to note when it started, what triggers it and whether it is changing.
Tell us about current medications
Some medicines and medical conditions can affect dental care. Bring an up-to-date list when relevant and mention any recent changes.
Bring useful records
If you recently had dental X-rays elsewhere, tell the dentist. Existing images may be useful and can sometimes avoid unnecessary duplication.
Prepare your questions
If a treatment worries you, you want to understand alternatives or you have time constraints, mention it at the beginning. The appointment is also a conversation.
